Pinch pot
Pinch pot (Organic)
The steps that I took to create my pinch pots are:
1. Get a piece of clay and throw it between your hands in order to get a perfect ball shape
2. Stick your thumb into the center of the ball towards the bottom leaving a little clay at the bottom
3. Using the area between your thumb and your fingers, pinch the pinch pot around in a circle
4. Continue to pinch in a circle until you have a circular shape and it is about pinky thick.
5. Use the smooth side of a metal rib or a rubber rib and run it around the pinch pot in order to smooth it.
6. After the bumps are gone, use a sponge to finish smoothing
How I made the pinch pot into a nest with a bird:
7. Add on coils by laying them down in a bunch of different directions
8. Scrape the outside of the coils to get the look of tree bark and branches
9. Make a bird by taking a ball of clay and shaping the wings and adding on a small cone for the beak
10. Dip glaze the pinch pot

Inspiration
My inspiration was a mom bird on the top of a nest looking out for her baby birds. I chose this because my mom is always looking out for me. I showed this by having a mom bird looking out for her baby birds on the top of a nest.

My First and second pinch pots compared
My first project was not as good as my second pinch pot because it was much thicker and not as smooth. For my second project, it was much closer to pinky thick than my first one, it was smoother, and the design was much more creative than my first pinch pot's design.
